Training Centre

Secret Stylist believes that to be successful in any business, a skilled workforce is key. Hair extension application can be a highly lucrative add on to your salon but it is imperative that all of your stylists are experts in hair extension application, because with the high price tag attached to hair extensions, comes a high expectation from your client.

It is easy to attach hair extensions however if you or your stylists are unaware of how to correctly section your clients hair or if you are unsure about bond placement then training in these areas is essential. An excellent hair extensions technician is one who has the ability to conceal all bonds and blend a clients hair perfectly so that the clients extensions are completely undetectable.

At Secret Stylist's training centre we have only the most skilled hair extension technicians on hand to teach you all they know about hair extensions application as well as being able to educate you about the origins of hair, how to do a consultation and book in a client, colour matching and after care product recommendation.

Bookings for all training sessions are essential and we recommend to book in at least 2 weeks in advance as our sessions fill up fast.At Secret Stylist training centre we offer 2 levels of training.

1: Complementary group sessions

Content: A group session is held in a seminar style. A trainer will demonstrate how to attach a full head of extensions at the front of the class. The trainer will speak to you about tips and tricks of the trade. You may also get the chance to apply a full head of extensions and be critiqued by the trainer. Group sessions generally only cover 1 method of hair extensions application.

Time: 3 hours
Inclusions: Certificate of completion
Cost: Training is free for any stylist who has purchase on of our starter packs.
Where: Our training centre is in Port Melbourne, however we frequently hold training sessions interstate. For dates and times of our next session in your state, please email jenna@secrestylist.com.au

Note: If would you like to apply a full head of extensions during the session we recommend that you bring your own live model along. We provide mannequin heads for the training session but we find that experience on a real person is much more beneficial.

2: One on one salon sessions

Content: In a one on one salon sessions, you plus any addition stylists you may choose to bring with you, will receive one on one training. One of our experienced trainers will work side by side with you to show you how to section, apply, remove and cut in (blend) your clients hair. You will have the opportunity to see the application and removal process up close. You will also have opportunity to apply 2 full heads of extensions. This course is intensive and once completed you will have the confidence you need to be an expert in hair extensions application. In fact if you still do not feel 100% confident with your extensions application skills, you are welcome to come back to our centre at anytime for a free session.

Time: 3 - 4 hours for one method (depending on how many attendees are in each class). 6 hours for 3 methods.
Inclusions: Free tool kit for each method completed. Certificate of achievement.
Cost: $299 for 1 method. $100 for each additional method.
Where: Our training centre is in Port Melbourne, however we are able to send our trainers interstate to hold a training session with your team in your salon. Additional charges will apply.
